UBCP/ACTRA Members Ratify New BC Master Production Agreement
Vancouver, BC – March 6, 2025 – The Union of British Columbia Performers/Alliance of Canadian Cinema, Television and Radio Artists (UBCP/ACTRA) is proud to announce that, following a historically large voter turnout, our membership has ratified the 2025 – 2028 British Columbia Master Production Agreement (BCMPA).
This agreement represents a significant step forward in improving the working conditions of performers in British Columbia and the Yukon,” said Keith Martin Gordey, President of UBCP/ACTRA. “Our negotiating team fought the good fight, and this agreement is a testament to their profound knowledge, dedication and determination.”
The newly ratified agreement marks a major achievement in UBCP/ACTRA’s ongoing commitment to advancing performers’ rights and working conditions. New language includes protections for Artificial Intelligence in line with those negotiated by SAG-AFTRA and ACTRA, provisions addressing issues related to the increased use of self-tapes in auditions, terms and conditions specifically regarding equitable hair and makeup services, a much-needed increase to the rest period between workdays, increased insurance and retirement contributions, the largest wage increases ever negotiated for Performers working under the BCMPA, and much more.
UBCP/ACTRA Director of Contracts, Lesley Brady added, “This rich and historic agreement will have a meaningful impact on the working lives of Performers for years to come. I’m proud of what we’ve been able to achieve in this round of negotiations.”
The new 3 year agreement takes effect on April 1, 2025.
