The Union has an Ultra Low Budget (ULB) Program to meet any budget so that union members and producers can work together on low budget productions while protecting the rights of performers.
There are 5 different ULB Programs available:
For Productions with a total production cash budget of $40,000 or less
For student films that are being created for course credit
For Productions with a total production cash budget of $40,000-$150,000
For Productions produced by UBCP/ACTRA Members with a maximum total production cash budget of $300,000
For Animation Productions with a total production cash budget up to $150,000
Please note the following types of projects do not qualify for the Ultra Low Budget Program, but may be eligible for the BC Indie Program (Details can be found in the BCMPA Appendix Q) :
- Industrial/corporate videos
- Dubbing
- Television Pilots and Presentation Programs
- Documentaries
- TV series
- Television Movies of the Week
- Commercials
- Educational Programs
- Productions with a total cash budget over $150,000 (or over $300,0000 for the Member Produced ULB)
