This summer workshop will be fun and creative!
Monologues! Students will be given a monologue ahead of time to perform on Day 1. They will also work on writing a short monologue for a classmate to perform on Day 2.
Auditions! Day 3 and 4. We will use current Film and TV materials to help understand the tone and structure that different projects require, introduce the fundamentals of auditioning, or brush up on auditions for the more experienced actors. We will also try new techniques and creative ways to audition “in the room” and in “self-tapes”. Actors will practice taping each other, using lighting and being a reader for their “co-actors”.
Improv games will be used to warm everyone up, get the creative juices flowing and allow for a goofy, fun, non-judgement, safe space for young actors to explore their work.
Each student will be given a scene and partner.
On Day 5, students will rehearse, be given notes, and perform the scenes!
