Course Description
This spring workshop will be fun and creative!
Commercials! We will explore commercial “copy” and collaborate to write commercials for products chosen by the students. We will work on the basics of commercial acting and being “in the room” for auditions.
Auditions! We will use current Film and TV materials to help understand the tone and structure that different projects require, introduce the fundamentals of auditioning or brush up on auditions for the more experienced actors, and try new techniques and creative ways to audition “in the room” and in “self-tapes”. Actors will practice taping each other, using lighting and being a reader for their “co-actors”.
Improv games will be used to warm everyone up, get the creative juices flowing and allow for a goofy, fun, non-judgement, safe space for young actors to explore their work.
