Course Description
This course is designed for performers with a physical background in Dance, Martial Arts, Acrobatics, Sports, Fitness or any experienced, working performer who wants to take on more physical roles.
Note: This course is not for UBCP/ACTRA Stunt Performers.
The small class size of the course will offer personalized guidance. Before starting the course, you will receive a functional physical assessment and personalized workout plan, including recommendations for rehabilitation and modified training regimens if required.
The course consists of 24 hours of immersive training and 12 hours of directed homework spread out over four weeks.
This course will focus on:
- fight choreography
- action scene study (character breakdown and script analysis)
- understanding of on-set stunt etiquette and how to safely conduct yourself during the rehearsal and shooting of an action scene.
- Understanding how to take direction from the Director and Stunt Coordinator simultaneously.
- Understanding of how and when to stand up for your own health and safety.
