The UBCP/ACTRA Home Safe Program provides financial support for safe transportation from set to your home, or to a safe transit location, after dark, when there is no alternative transportation available.
The Member is to pay the cost of the taxi or Uber and then seek reimbursement from the Union by completing a claim form (below) and submitting it to finance@ubcpactra.ca. Members should submit all claims only once per month by the last day of the month.
The maximum reimbursable amount is $30.00 per trip. Any amounts greater than $30.00 shall be the responsibility of the Member.
If approved, payment can be expected by the end of the following month. The program is available to all members for travel from set to their home address, or to an accepted transit location (Skytrain station, sea bus terminal or bus loop area). The Program is in effect between the hours of 6:00 pm – 6:00 am October 1st to April 30th, and 9:00 pm – 6:00 am May 1st to September 31st.
The program covers Greater Vancouver, including Richmond, the North Shore to Horseshoe Bay, Burnaby, Coquitlam, New Westminster, Surrey, and Langley.
The gratuity is the responsibility of the performer.
All claim forms will be verified in reference to the member’s work dates and home address.
The Union reserves the right to request further information from the performer and to reject the claim if the criteria are not satisfied.
